Could a 72-Hour drug course save more lives after cardiac arrest?

Summary
This study tests whether giving the heart medication amiodarone for 72 hours can reduce death and prevent life-threatening heart rhythms in critically ill patients who survived a cardiac arrest with a shockable rhythm. About 674 adults in intensive care will receive either amiodarone or a placebo. The goal is to see if this short-term treatment improves survival and reduces dangerous heart events.
