New drug may rescue voice after botox side effect.

NCT ID NCT05123053

Summary

This study tested a drug called amifampridine to see if it could reduce temporary voice weakness and breathiness that often occurs in the weeks after people receive Botox injections for a voice disorder called spasmodic dysphonia. The trial involved 18 adults who experienced significant breathiness after their standard Botox treatment. Researchers measured if the drug improved patients' self-reported voice problems using a standard questionnaire.
