New gel could help fight wound infections

Summary

This early-stage study tests a new gel called Amicidin-β, applied directly into infected wounds during surgery. The goal is to see if it is safe and easy for surgeons to use. About 44 adults with infected surgical or traumatic wounds will take part. Some will get standard care alone, others will get standard care plus the gel.
