New wound treatment enters first human safety tests

NCT ID NCT07379684

Summary

This early-stage study is testing the safety of Amicidin-β, a liquid solution applied directly into infected surgical or traumatic wounds during standard surgical procedures. Researchers will enroll 44 adults with wound infections to compare standard care alone versus standard care plus the experimental solution. The main goal is to determine if the treatment is safe enough for larger trials and whether it gets absorbed into the bloodstream.
