New heart valve fix could spare patients from open surgery

Summary
This early study tests a new device called the AMEND Trans-Septal system, which is placed through a tube in a blood vessel to repair a leaky mitral valve without open-heart surgery. Up to 15 people with moderate-to-severe mitral regurgitation will be enrolled to see if the device is safe and works as intended. The main goal is to check for serious complications within 30 days after the procedure.
