New light therapy shows promise for skin cancer treatment

Summary
This study tests a gel called Ameluz® combined with a special red light to treat a common type of skin cancer called superficial basal cell carcinoma. About 187 adults with at least one skin cancer spot will receive either the active gel or a placebo before light treatment. The goal is to see if the combination safely clears the cancer, checked 12 weeks after the last treatment session.
