First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looked at how often emergency room doctors in Villavicencio, Colombia, use a simple checklist called the Alvarado score to help diagnose appendicitis. Researchers surveyed 125 physicians to see if they knew the score, used it, and wrote it down for patients with belly pain. The goal was to understand current practices, not to test a new treatment.
