Kitchen foil tested as simple boost for newborn jaundice treatment
NCT ID NCT07266246
Summary
This study tested whether placing simple reflective materials like aluminum foil or white cloth around babies during standard light therapy could make the treatment work better for newborn jaundice. Researchers compared 81 newborns receiving light therapy with either foil, cloth, or no reflector to see which helped lower bilirubin levels fastest, shorten treatment time, and reduce side effects. The goal was to find a low-cost, practical way to improve a very common treatment for infants.
