Can a trip to lower ground help people with mountain sickness breathe and walk easier?
NCT ID NCT06489691
Summary
This study aimed to understand how moving from a high-altitude home (3200m) to a low-altitude location (760m) affects the walking ability of people with high-altitude pulmonary hypertension (HAPH). Researchers tested 24 people who permanently live above 2500 meters and have HAPH. They measured how far participants could walk in 6 minutes, along with their oxygen levels and heart rate, at both their high-altitude home and after moving to low altitude.
