New hope for easier breathing in ALS patients
NCT ID NCT06249412
Summary
This study is testing if a small adjustment to a cough-assist machine helps people with ALS clear mucus from their lungs more effectively. The machine helps patients cough by applying air pressure through a mask. Researchers are adding a gentle pressure between cough cycles to see if it keeps airways more open, improves airflow, and makes the therapy more comfortable. The goal is to help reduce lung infections and improve quality of life for people living with ALS.
