Tick bite study aims to unlock secrets of red meat allergy

Summary

This study looks at 100 adults who have recently been bitten by a tick. Researchers want to understand why some people develop an allergy to red meat (Alpha-Gal syndrome) after a tick bite, while others do not. Participants donate blood and answer questions shortly after the bite, then again 4-6 weeks later. Some may also have allergy tests at 3 months. The goal is to find immune system patterns that predict the allergy.
