NCT ID NCT07499713
First seen Apr 07, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This observational study looks at whether certain blood markers (VEGF-A and VCAM-1) are different in people with alopecia areata compared to healthy individuals. Researchers will also check for changes in tiny blood vessels at the nail base and link these to hair loss severity. About 90 adults with alopecia areata and healthy volunteers will give blood samples and have scalp and nail exams. The goal is to better understand the role of blood vessels and inflammation in this condition.
