First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding alogliptin to a standard two-drug therapy (pioglitazone and metformin) improves blood sugar, cholesterol, and pancreas function in people with type 2 diabetes who also have fatty liver disease. About 80 adults who have not used diabetes drugs in the past six months will take part. The goal is to see if the three-drug combo works better and is safe compared to the two-drug regimen alone.
