Can a handful of almonds mend a broken leg?
NCT ID NCT07153302
Summary
This study is testing if eating a small daily amount of almonds (5 grams) can help heal broken thigh and shin bones as effectively as standard vitamin D supplements. It will involve 136 adults with these fractures who have low vitamin D levels. Researchers will compare bone healing on X-rays and check for side effects to see if almonds are a safe, affordable alternative.
