When a gentle touch becomes torture: the hidden burden of eczema
NCT ID NCT06923202
Summary
This study aims to understand how often people with atopic dermatitis (eczema) experience 'alloknesia'—where light touches like clothing or air movement trigger intense itching instead of normal sensation. Researchers will survey 160 adult patients with long-term eczema to measure how common this condition is and how it affects their quality of life, stress levels, sleep, and daily activities. The study doesn't test treatments but gathers important information about this under-researched symptom.
