New study analyzes best donor match for AML stem cell transplants

NCT ID NCT07155382

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026

Summary

This completed study looked at 98 adults with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in first remission who received a stem cell transplant from a matched sibling, matched unrelated, or half-matched family donor. All patients got the same chemotherapy conditioning before transplant. Researchers tracked engraftment, graft-versus-host disease, infections, leukemia relapse, and survival to see how donor type and other factors influenced outcomes.

What this could lead to

If successful, this study could help doctors choose the best donor type and conditioning regimen for AML patients needing a stem cell transplant.
