Summary

This study tests whether a simple screening and brief counseling session can reduce unhealthy alcohol use among hospital outpatients affected by conflict in Tigray. About 262 adults who drink at risky levels will either receive advice and counseling or just be screened. Researchers will compare drinking levels after 6 and 12 months to see if the brief intervention helps.
