First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tested whether alpha linolenic acid (ALA), a nutrient found in flaxseed oil, can improve blood sugar levels in people with elevated glucose. 94 adults with high blood sugar or well-controlled type 2 diabetes took ALA or a placebo in a crossover design. Researchers measured changes in fasting glucose, HbA1c, and also explored effects on gut bacteria and metabolism.
