This study tested whether a probiotic called Akkermansia muciniphila Akk11 can help people with obesity lose weight. 106 adults with a BMI between 28 and 35 took the probiotic or a placebo. Researchers measured changes in BMI, inflammation, and gut bacteria to see if the supplement works.
