Simple blood test could save lives by catching kidney failure earlier in liver patients

NCT ID NCT07452484

Summary

This study aims to see if tracking a simple blood marker (the Systemic Immune Inflammation Index or SII) over time can help doctors detect and predict serious kidney injury in hospitalized patients with liver cirrhosis. Researchers will enroll 100 adults with liver cirrhosis to see if changes in this marker can spot kidney problems earlier and more accurately than the standard test. The goal is to help doctors choose the right treatment faster, which could improve patient outcomes.
