New lung cancer drug challenges standard treatment in major trial
NCT ID NCT05499390
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This phase 3 trial compares a new drug, AK112, to the standard drug pembrolizumab as a first treatment for people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer that has a specific marker (PD-L1 positive). About 398 participants with stage IIIB/C or IV cancer will receive either AK112 or pembrolizumab. The main goal is to see if AK112 can delay cancer growth better than pembrolizumab.
