First seen Apr 18, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using ultrasound on the neck can better predict if placing a breathing tube will be difficult in obese patients (BMI over 30). Researchers will measure certain neck structures with ultrasound and compare these to standard checks like mouth opening and neck size. The goal is to find a more accurate, non-invasive way to keep patients safe during anesthesia. About 70 adults having planned surgery will take part.
