First seen May 03, 2026 · Last updated May 03, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether using devices that vibrate the airways or chest wall can help people with severe COPD breathe easier and sleep better during a sudden worsening of symptoms (exacerbation). 33 adults hospitalized for a COPD flare-up took part. Researchers measured breathing, sleep quality, and physical function before and after using the devices. The goal was to see if these vibrations could improve recovery and comfort.
