Simple swap in surgery could ease common Post-Op throat pain
NCT ID NCT07315490
Summary
This study aims to see if using a numbing medicine (lignocaine) instead of air to inflate the cuff on a breathing tube reduces sore throat, cough, and hoarseness after surgery. It will involve 80 adults having surgery under general anesthesia. Researchers will compare the two methods by measuring cuff pressure during surgery and asking patients about throat symptoms for 24 hours afterward.
