Cleaner air, fewer sick days? norwegian study tests air purifiers in schools

NCT ID NCT07119333

Summary

This study aims to see if putting portable air purifiers with HEPA filters in classrooms can reduce the number of days students and teachers are absent due to respiratory illnesses like colds, flu, and COVID-19. Researchers will compare real air purifiers to fake ones in about 72 Norwegian primary schools over two winters. The main goal is to find a simple, non-disruptive way to keep kids in school and teachers at work by potentially cleaning viruses from the air.
