Cleaner air, better lungs? new study tests air purifiers for COPD

Summary

This study is testing whether using an indoor air purifier can improve lung health in people with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). About 120 adults with COPD who live in Shanghai will use either a real air purifier or a placebo device in their homes for a period of time. Researchers will measure changes in lung function and breathing symptoms to see if cleaner air makes a difference.
