Can an AC unit keep seniors out of the hospital during heat waves?

NCT ID NCT06982339

Summary

This study is testing whether providing free air conditioners and help with electricity bills can protect older adults from getting sick during hot weather. Researchers will enroll 100 seniors in Boston who don't have AC and have chronic health conditions. They will track how the AC affects people's heat stress, mental health, and whether they need to go to the hospital.
