Ancient martial arts tested for modern Fighters' edge
NCT ID NCT07329504
Summary
This study looked at whether adding traditional martial arts training could help Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) athletes. Researchers tested if eight weeks of Aikido or Taijiquan (Tai Chi) training could improve joint flexibility, reaction speed, and leg power in a small group of experienced MMA fighters. The goal was to see if these gentler, movement-focused practices could complement intense MMA training and potentially reduce injury risk.
