First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tests whether a gentle, adapted version of the Japanese martial art aikido can improve hand and wrist function in adults who have trouble gripping. Twenty participants with unilateral hand or wrist dysfunction will practice aikido exercises for a period, while a control group does not exercise. Researchers will measure changes in muscle strength, joint mobility, pain, and quality of life to see if this activity offers benefits.
