AI replaces the probe: painless wound measurement on the horizon

NCT ID NCT07211295

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tested a smartphone app called SeeWound 2 that uses artificial intelligence to measure the size, depth, and tissue makeup of hard-to-heal wounds. Instead of using a probe that touches the wound, the app takes a picture and calculates the measurements digitally. The study included 25 adults with wounds from diabetes, poor circulation, or pressure, and checked how accurate and safe the app is compared to standard methods.
