AI takes on anesthesia: can ChatGPT and gemini match expert doctors?
NCT ID NCT07261436
First seen Dec 17, 2025 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study compares how well two AI models (Gemini 2.5 Pro and ChatGPT-5.1) interpret ultrasound videos of a common pain-block procedure (TAP block) used after surgery. About 40 adults having planned surgery will have their routine TAP block recorded. Expert anesthesiologists will review the videos, and their answers will be compared to the AI's. The goal is to see if AI can safely support doctors in interpreting these images, potentially improving training and decision-making.
