AI takes on anesthesiologists in Pre-Surgery risk showdown
NCT ID NCT07364942
First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tested whether an artificial intelligence (AI) system could assess surgical risks as well as anesthesiologists do before elective surgery. Researchers compared the AI's risk ratings with those of human doctors in 500 adult patients. The goal was to see if AI could be a helpful decision-support tool, not to replace doctors.
