AI video aims to ease Post-Birth pain and improve healing

NCT ID NCT07453979

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether an artificial intelligence-assisted video can help women recover from an episiotomy—a cut made during childbirth. Seventy new mothers will either get standard care or also watch the video. Researchers will measure wound healing, pain, and sexual discomfort to see if the video makes a difference.

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a simple, low-cost way to improve recovery and quality of life for women after childbirth.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage trial with only 70 participants, so results may not apply to all women. The video focuses on education, not a medical treatment, so benefits may be modest.
