Smartphone AI aims to ease surgery pain for babies in need

NCT ID NCT07232914

Summary

This study is testing a new, low-cost method to help control pain during cleft lip repair surgery in infants. Researchers are comparing a smartphone-based AI system that guides a numbing injection to the standard technique. The goal is to see if the AI-assisted method is more effective at reducing pain and the need for strong painkillers during surgery, especially in areas with limited medical resources.
