First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests whether an AI model can help doctors more accurately diagnose testicular appendix torsion (a common cause of sudden scrotal pain in boys) using ultrasound images. Researchers will compare diagnoses made by doctors alone versus with AI assistance, using data from 2,000 patients across multiple hospitals. The goal is to reduce misdiagnosis and unnecessary surgeries.
