Smart toothbrush takes on gum disease: AI vs. standard brushes in new trial
NCT ID NCT07308522
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tests whether an AI-guided electric toothbrush (Xiaomi T501) reduces plaque and gum bleeding more effectively than a standard electric brush or a manual toothbrush in adults with gingivitis. About 33 participants will brush for 6 weeks, and researchers will measure plaque levels, gum bleeding, and how well people follow brushing instructions. The goal is to see if smart coaching adds real benefits for everyday oral care.
