AI predicts arm swelling risk to guide breast cancer treatment
NCT ID NCT07187726
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study tests whether an artificial intelligence (AI) tool that predicts a woman's personal risk of arm lymphedema (swelling) after breast cancer radiation can help patients and doctors make better treatment choices. About 724 women with breast cancer who need radiation will be randomly assigned to either see their AI-predicted risk or not. The goal is to see if knowing the risk reduces swelling and improves quality of life over two years.
