AI predicts deadly pneumonia after brain surgery

NCT ID NCT07321262

Summary

This study tested whether a computer tool using artificial intelligence could help doctors predict which patients might develop pneumonia after brain tumor surgery. The tool analyzes routine patient information to estimate pneumonia risk and suggests prevention steps. Researchers enrolled 1,856 adults having their first elective brain tumor surgery to see if using this tool could reduce pneumonia cases and improve recovery.
