AI steps into the operating room to prevent surgery complications
NCT ID NCT05869058
Summary
This study is testing a new artificial intelligence (AI) tool designed to help surgeons during thyroid surgery. The AI is trained to spot tiny, hard-to-find glands and predict their blood flow from the surgical camera feed. The goal is to help surgeons avoid damaging these glands, which can prevent patients from needing lifelong medication after surgery.
