AI predicts hidden glaucoma risk after laser eye surgery

NCT ID NCT07544615

First seen Apr 26, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study uses artificial intelligence and data from over 10,000 people to better predict true eye pressure after common laser vision correction surgeries like LASIK and SMILE. After surgery, standard eye pressure measurements can be falsely low, masking dangerous pressure increases from steroid drops or glaucoma. The goal is to create a model that gives doctors a reliable pressure reading, helping them catch problems early and guide treatment.
