AI eye: new computer system aims to spot hidden throat lesions

NCT ID NCT07326358

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study is testing an artificial intelligence (AI) system that can recognize different parts of the nose and throat and detect abnormal growths (lesions) from standard camera images. About 500 adults who undergo a routine nose-and-throat exam will have their images used to train and validate the AI. The goal is to see if the AI can match or outperform doctors in spotting suspicious areas, which could lead to earlier and more accurate diagnosis.
