AI steps in to predict dangerous dizzy spells and falls

NCT ID NCT07309666

Summary

This study aims to develop and test a new computer system designed to better diagnose and classify a condition where blood pressure drops dangerously when standing up, known as orthostatic hypotension. The system will use multiple sensors to monitor blood pressure and brain blood flow in 2000 patients with Parkinson's, multiple system atrophy, or diabetes. The goal is to create a tool that can automatically classify the condition and predict a person's risk of future falls, fainting, or cognitive decline.
