AI scans could spare cancer patients unnecessary treatment
NCT ID NCT07181850
Summary
This study looked back at medical records and CT scans from 363 adults with a type of esophageal cancer. Researchers used artificial intelligence to build a computer model. The model's goal is to predict, before surgery, which patients will have no detectable cancer left after receiving a combination of immunotherapy and chemotherapy. An accurate prediction could help doctors tailor treatment plans and avoid giving ineffective therapies to patients unlikely to benefit.
