AI predicts fate of COVID patients in ICU

NCT ID NCT07436572

Summary

This study tested whether a computer program (an artificial neural network) could predict two key outcomes for COVID-19 patients in intensive care: how long they would need a breathing machine and whether they would survive. Researchers looked back at the medical records of 113 patients to train the AI model. The goal was to see if AI could help doctors make better decisions and manage hospital resources during a pandemic.
