AI could predict when cardiac arrest strikes again

NCT ID NCT07452016

First seen Mar 07, 2026 · Last updated Jun 06, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tests a machine learning device that uses heart tracings (ECG) to predict if a person who just survived a cardiac arrest will have another one. Researchers will first see if emergency medical workers can use the device in simulated scenarios. Then, in real patients, the device will run in the background to check how accurate its predictions are, without changing care. The goal is to see if this tool could help responders treat patients faster and save more lives.
