Stopped early
Stopped early, before it reached the end. That can be for many reasons, including safety.
Cancelled
Cancelled before anyone took part.

Expanded access (not trials)

Expanded access
Not a trial. This treatment can be requested outside a study, case by case, for people who qualify.
Expanded access (paused)
Not a trial. The treatment can normally be requested outside a study, but is unavailable right now.
Expanded access (ended)
Not a trial. The treatment could once be requested outside a study, but no longer can.

Summary

Researchers are testing a certified AI software system that automatically interprets laboratory test results along with a structured medical history questionnaire. Adults at two university hospitals in Katowice, Poland, who are referred for lab testing complete an electronic questionnaire after their results are ready. The software then assigns each result an urgency category for medical contact, suggests a medical specialty, and recommends further tests. The study compares the software's urgency ratings with those of expert physicians to see how closely they agree.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
AI-based laboratory result interpretation software called LabTest Checker
What this could lead to
If it works, this software could help doctors spot urgent lab results faster and guide patients to the right specialist sooner.
What could go wrong
The software might misjudge how urgent a result is, especially in rare or complex cases. The study measures only how well the software matches expert doctors, not whether patients actually get better.
