Doctors test AI assistant: does it improve medical decisions?
NCT ID NCT07374926
Summary
This study tested whether giving doctors access to an AI chatbot (GPT-4o) helps them make better medical decisions. 249 doctors from Indonesia, Kenya, and the Netherlands worked through simulated patient cases, with half using AI assistance and half working alone. Researchers compared how closely both groups followed best-practice medical guidelines to see if AI improved their clinical reasoning.
