AI hunts for silent heart killer in medical records
NCT ID NCT06469372
Summary
This study tested a computer program designed to spot signs of a serious but often missed heart condition called cardiac amyloidosis. The AI looked at existing heart tests and health records of patients aged 50+ to find those most likely to have the undiagnosed disease. Researchers then invited those high-risk patients for confirmatory testing to see if the AI helped find more cases than usual doctor referrals.
