AI learns from doctors to make ventilators safer
NCT ID NCT05668637
Summary
This study aims to improve a computer program (an AI algorithm) that helps doctors set breathing machines (ventilators) for critically ill patients. Researchers will look back at the treatment records of over 300,000 adults who were on a ventilator to see how doctors' decisions differed from the AI's suggestions. The goal is to train the AI to recommend safer and more personalized ventilator settings by learning from real-world doctor expertise and patient outcomes.
