AI steps in to read your X-Rays: a new tool for thumb arthritis?

NCT ID NCT07148349

Summary

This study aims to develop new computer tools (artificial intelligence) to help doctors better assess and monitor thumb osteoarthritis from X-ray and CT scan images. It will use existing medical images from about 2500 patients who have had thumb surgery or other wrist conditions. The goal is to create automated systems that can classify the severity of arthritis and check if an implant is loosening, which could lead to more consistent diagnoses in the future.
